What does DHA do in the body?

DHA is a natural anti-inflammatory. As such, it has been associated with providing benefits to both alleviating and preventing certain diseases including cancer, asthma, depression, visual acuity problems, cardiovascular disease (including coronary artery disease), ADHD, and a variety of autoimmune diseases. DHA is the most commonly found fatty acid in the brain and while there is no direct cause and effect known, higher levels of DHA are associated with a lower risk of Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
