What do I do if I am breastfeeding and my DHA levels are low?
First, DO NOT PANIC! There are always ways to ensure you are giving the maximum benefit to your breastfeeding child and yourself. Dietary changes are always recommended; however, those changes can have a slight lag time until your DHA levels are increased to appropriate levels. It is very easy to take an Omega-3 supplement while you are changing your diet. For those who can’t eat fish because of an allergy or aversion, supplementation is the best alternative.
