How often should I test my breast milk?

There is no recommendation for frequency of checking DHA levels in your breast milk. Obviously, mothers who test with lower than desired levels may want to check again after several weeks of either dietary changes or supplementation to see how their levels have increased. Additionally, mothers may re-check if they have made a sudden or drastic change in their diet due to other extenuating circumstances, like an allergy being discovered in a family member that prevents foods rich in DHA being prepared in the home.
