Why should I get tested?

If you are sexually active, for your own safety and sexual health, as well as your partner’s, the CDC recommends getting tested at minimum once a year. The CDC estimates that every year, there are 19.7 million new STD/STI infections, and by age 25, 1 in 2 sexually active adults will contract some form of STI/STD.

According to ASHA (American Sexual Health Association), more than half of people will have an STD/STI during their lifetime. Without even knowing it, many people can have an STD without experiencing symptoms. Play it safe, play it smart, and always get tested regularly to prevent infection.
