What technology does Caris use (for example, whole-genome sequencing and RNA analysis), and what does that mean for customers in plain language?

Caris Detect is a next-generation multi-cancer early detection blood test powered by Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), Whole Transcriptome Sequencing (WTS) and advanced artificial intelligence. Your blood contains tiny fragments of genetic material that are released naturally by cells throughout the body. Scientists call these fragments cell-free DNA (cfDNA) and cell-free RNA (cfRNA).

Most of these fragments come from healthy cells. However, if cancer is present, cancer cells may also release DNA and RNA into the bloodstream. These molecules can carry important biological signals about what is happening inside the body.

Caris Detect analyzes both DNA and RNA signals using advanced genomic technologies and sophisticated computational methods. By examining multiple types of biological information, the test is designed to identify patterns that may be associated with cancer and, when possible, provide information about where those signals may be coming from.
