How does the FIT Colon Cancer Screening Test screen for colon cancer?
This test is used to find small amounts of hidden (occult) blood in the stool. A sample of stool is tested for traces of blood. You will receive a kit with instructions that explain how to take the stool sample at home. You then send your sample to the lab we use to help get you tested. If you receive a positive result, our physician network will contact you to discuss, but we also recommend discussing it further with your healthcare provider as additional testing may be needed. This test alone cannot diagnose colon cancer.
