What will happen if my FIT Colon Cancer Screening Test is positive?

It is recommended that a positive FIT Colon Cancer Screening Test should be followed up with a diagnostic test (performed by a physician) to determine the cause of blood in your stool. The most common diagnostic test is a colonoscopy, which is typically performed by a Gastroenterologist – a doctor that specializes in the intestinal tract. A colonoscopy allows for a complete evaluation of the colon and removal of potentially precancerous polyps.
