Do shipping temperatures affect my kit or results?

Samples remain stable for a limited amount of time, so it is important to mail your sample promptly after collecting. Temperatures in transit will not affect sample stability. This applies to all tests with the exception of our STD tests that require a urine sample. The media in the urine sample tubes can freeze with extremely cold temperatures, which may result in rejection by the lab.
Saliva samples should be sent as soon as possible after collection. If your saliva sample will not be sent on the same day as collection, please store it in the freezer until you are ready to ship.
Dried blood spot or dried urine samples should be kept at room temperature and out of direct sunlight.
