Why are some samples rejected by the lab?

The most common reason that a sample may be rejected is if there is not enough quantity of the sample collected. This can vary by sample type:

  • Not enough blood collected on the card
  • Not enough saliva collected in the tube
  • Urine that is too dilute

Another major cause for sample rejection is missing patient identifiers (Example: No name written on the card). If you suspect that your sample was collected incorrectly, please reach out to us at [email protected] and we will be happy to evaluate it for you before you return it to the lab.
